  • Daniela Garcia - South Austin, Texas - ATX - Montessori School Program

    Daniela Garcia

Daniela Garcia holds a BA in Architecture from the Universidad Tecnológica de México. After working in the building industry for five years, she became a mother, which inspired her to seek an educational path that would fulfill her daughters' potentials and help them become better human beings. This inspiration led Daniela to pursue a career as a Montessori teacher.

Kukumi Montessori started as Daniela’s envisioned to provide a quality Montessori Program in Spanish, as she couldn’t find one for her daughters before becoming a Montessori guide.

With two years of experience teaching preschool and kindergarten in Mexico City, then moving to Austin, pursued her Montessori Training and one year of internship at Magnolia Montessori for All, Daniela obtained her Montessori Early Education certification from Age of Montessori (MACTE-accredited). She is currently pursuing her Montessori Lower Elementary Education certification from CEM in Monterrey, also accredited by AMS-MACTE.

Daniela is pursuing her certification with The Effective Parenting Method®, that is a parenting methodology designed to enhance the education of children and young people from ages 0 to 21. This approach focuses on promoting their emotional development and equipping them with the skills needed to navigate modern life successfully.

Outside of her professional life, Daniela loves spending quality time with her family, traveling, holistic education and exploring new experiences.

  • Michele Owens - - South Austin, Texas - ATX - Montessori School Program

    Michele Owens

Ms. Michele has devoted her life to dance, a passion inherited from her mother, Gwen Owens. Trained in ballet, tap, jazz, and musical theater, she began teaching at 17. Her journey led her to The University of Texas, where she earned a degree in Modern Dance, embracing its creative and intellectual aspects, and later to The University of Utah, where she completed a Master of Arts in Modern Dance, focusing on inclusive education.

Ms. Michele’s career highlights include teaching children and adults with disabilities, fostering self-esteem and inclusivity through movement. She founded Café Dance in 1993, emphasizing improvisation and individuality, and has directed the WINGS program at Crockett High School for 25 years, bringing dance education to teenagers with learning disabilities.

Her teaching reflects a balance of creativity and discipline, much like the Kukumi Montessori philosophy. She empowers her students to explore their individuality while providing the structure necessary for growth. This harmony of freedom and guidance mirrors modern dance itself—blending precision with self-expression—and aligns with Kukumi Montessori’s mission to nurture independence, exploration, and personal development.

For Ms. Michele, dance is a universal language that unites, inspires, and celebrates life, helping individuals connect with themselves and others through movement.
