When one steps foot into Kukumi, s/he will observe joyful children who are typically very engaged in their self-selected work. You will see some meticulously sewing, snipping micro greens they grew themselves, spooning, or beading while others are stacking, counting, pouring tea or preparing a snack for one another. The children spend ample time in communion with the natural world, including with one another. They study diverse cultural traditions and consistently involve the families in many special events and celebrations.

There is a very strong sense of community at Kukumi.
